Lorenzo’s Poems

ABC’S of Chicago

A is for Austin Boulevard

that runs from Roosevelt and past

all the way to perching on Cicero.

I like driving downtown

and driving back to the east side

and while I drive in Chicago

I always have the windows open

so I can feel the fresh air.

I hopped on the green line

from downtown to Harlem/Lake.

I merged onto interstate 290

to go to downtown Chicago.

I took my dog to the jefferson park in the loop.

I'm gonna take the pink line all the way to Kedzie.

I dropped off my sibling on Laramie avenue.

When I go downtown I always pass by the Magnificent Mile.

I was eating some oreos by Lake Michigan.

Ode

The air heads strips are as colorful

as a stream of water under the sunshine.

I would get those strips when I was younger

and hang out outside of my house.

And I remember i would go to the corner store

to get those trips like if it was a bank.

Now it gives me nostalgia of when I was younger.

And the only in my opinion you can eat the rainbow strips is

in the summer because its the only time

you can enjoy the strips outside.

And something else i love about is that

this candy at first its a bit sour

and after you get the sweet taste

that it tastes like cotton candy.

For me personally the first time i tried

 the airhead rainbow strips,

was the first time my oldest sister

gave me some to try.

And i like the taste of the

sweetness and sourness.

And in my opinion the airhead strips are the best

 compared to the regular skittles

because the regular skittles aren't sour.

Vroom Vroom

People use me like a luxury and drive me fast.

Sometimes my owner takes me to the track

In the weekends and everytime her goes

He drives me like a lightning bolt in a thunderstorm.

From here and there he take me out of the garage

And other times he leaves me in the garage

for me to not gain miles and lose value so later

if he wants to sell me he is not gonna supposed

Reduce my selling price.

Every friday he washes me outside of the garage

And leaves as clean like a diamond.
